sitting in my cozy chair after a fab day with the bestie (p.s. thanks again for coming. we're getting the Bible characters plates next time, k?!)-we've got a football game on & i'm about ready to dig in to my apple crumble pie. good day? yes. thankful for quiet weekends with fun trips around town & quiet nights tucked in. no plans, no agenda, no pressure to get our to-do list done. wonderful. tomorrow is filled with more down time-i'm expecting to get some sewing in & finish up some of those website edits i've been working on for the last few months!

who can believe christmas is right around the corner? this year has absolutely flown by. it doesn't seem real that christmas is 8 days away & that 2012 is mere days after that. i don't know if i ever really understood how fast time could travel...those years in school sure drug along, but whoa-now i'm almost 7 years out of high school & 3 out of college. unreal. it all just seems like it was yesterday.

i think i tend to live in the past-or, at least, hold many of my favorite memories there. (obviously, thought, right? memories are things of the past, duh, ash.) maybe the more correct way to say this is that i tend to live in my memories. dreaming of days past, fun adventures & trips, moments of laughter, sweet family time, etc. grateful for those MANY memories & so excited for the coming days, months, & year to create even more memories. 2011 gave us so, so, so many blessings. thankful for whatever comes down our little path in the next year.

annnnnd, hello, late girl. i had good intentions to post yesterday but that just didn't happen. football, relaxing, and fabric flowers held my attention for most of the day & i'm really ok with that. productivity did show its face late in the afternoon with records being updated & pictures snapped for future posts. yesterday really just was the perfect saturday. wonderful. oh, and the hogs won (a WAY too close game for me) so our spirits were high. woo pig.

so what's on the slate for the coming week? sister & boyfriend are coming today. work, of course. starting on christmas presents for my brother & his wife. finishing off a new group of headbands. painting mason jars. expect a post on that particular project soon.

it is a quiet saturday morning as i sit here and type this post. i can see the sun coming up and am ready to get some coffee in my hand. yes, don't even worry, my saturday morning choice of television does include ESPN. college gameday is coming soon and that's just the perfect way to start a full day of football. p.s. the hogs are ranked #10. and we play auburn. in fayetteville. i would say this is shaping up to be a fantastic day.

i've got big plans to go flea marketing with a sweet friend from church today. then it's on to arkansas and cheering on our hogs with so many great friends. back to joplin for sunday to say hi & bye to brother jordan before he leaves for italy for the next three years. throw in some more flea markets & you have one happy girl.

happy october! fall definitely feels more official with this turn of the calendar page (speaking of which, it's time to start the hunt for a cute one for the coming year!). my fall decorations might very well make an appearance this weekend--pumpkins and pilgrims definitely need to come out of hiding, right?

learning to stay on my toes lately. preparing for things goes a long way, but there is definitely something to be said about being ready for the unknown. for those things that pop up out of the blue-the things that come flying in from left field. being ready to face them head on and take care of them successfully.

whoa, hello, late post! friday saw me leaving straight from work for fayetteville and i had absolutely no time to post. maybe there is something to be said for doing a little work before i go out of town? ehh, oh well. i'm good with a random Sunday posting here and there (hope you are too!).

i had the best time this weekend: hammontrees with best friends. a sleepover with my bestie and dog nephew (hi troops!). ricks bakery. flea markets and vintage shops in siloam springs. a hair-dying adventure (dark hair is HERE!). watching a pitiful performance by our much loved hogs with the gutshalls. playing with baby emerson. see? so, so great.

thankful for the start of a new week with so many new opportunities coming down our path. praying for the Lord's hand in it all. so amazed at His goodness, grace, and mercy in our lives. this year has been one for the books--graduations, weddings, new jobs, kerrie's accident. ups and downs? yes. it's life and God didn't promise an easy life. trials and tribulations are a part of it all. we're just thankful that He never wavers and is a constant in our lives.

the world spins madly on.

the last two days have been absolutely wonderful. dreary, rainy, & chilly (ok, so 60ish degrees isn't cold by any means, but after a summer of endless 100+ degree days, 60 felt chilly). i got to pull out my scarves & boots--the end result? comfy cozy. & coming home? that meant sweats & long sleeves & sleeping with more than a thin sheet. hello, wonderful.

fall is here. football is in full swing (that means halftime dates with my football buddies--not too mention watching a part of any televised game--hello, fanatic). pumpkin flavored goodies are back. long sleeves & cardis & scarves are finally comfortable to wear. it is oh, so lovely.
