inspiration workshop: favorite DIY.

hello, thursday! inspiration workshop is back for another week & once again,
i'm linking up with gussysews. this week, the prompt: favorite DIY.

yall. if you know anything about me, you know i love a good DIY. i'm all over trying something fun & crafty--even if sometimes it doesn't turn out--that's half the fun!

one of my favorite projects from this past year was the transformation of this sad, little stool into something that just popped! after a fresh coat of paint, i arranged some of my scraps of fabric out & got to modge podging away! absolutely LOVE the outcome.

my jewelry holder might also top my list of fave DIY projects.

a little paint & hot glue goes a LONG way.

this little project is definitely on my radar. i've been saving all of our jelly jars,

frappacinno glasses, and, yes, mason jars for this very reason!

this week's prompt? oh yes, our favorite shops.

i've spent most of my day thinking this post through.
shops have flitted in & out of my mind and i'm finding it
hard to narrow it down to just a handful.

i'd count this as a good problem, wouldn't you?!

ok. let's start with this one.

the kitchen store can be found in lovely conway, arkansas.

i HEART this store.

if we're at home with my in-laws, you can bet i will be making a trip to this fab store.

they have the best dinnerware...we couldn't NOT register here.

oh, and don't even worry-they have plenty of razorback items
to meet every one of my wishes.

and yes, we have 75% of them.

the bestie & i make it a point to always, always stop by when we are together.

ending with a favorite flea market in oklahoma.
if you live near tulsa, yall HAVE to stop by.
i've found such great goodies here--& their inventory changes fairly
frequently so there is always something new to hunt down.
i'm just itching to go back--my pyrex collection doesn't want to stop growing.

inspiring books.

thanks to a new-to-me (apparently, i have been under a rock) blog feature,
thursday posts will now be a part of gussy sews inspiration workshop link party.

this week's prompt: INSPIRING BOOKS.

oh my. where do i even start? this is just about the most perfect prompt for me.

my parents decided not to send me to kindergarten way back when, but instead, to keep me home until first grade. reading probably wasn't my strong point going
into school, but i had the most AMAZING teacher who jumped right in with us.
needless to say, after a day or two, i was reading & reading & reading.
seriously, i devoured books as fast as i could get my hands on them.

my claim to fame? reading the little house on the praire series SEVEN times.

also on my list: the babysitters club series, the saddle club series,
the boxcar children, nancy drew, hardy boys,  & the mandie series.

those are just my favorites...my list could go on & on.

i've read hundreds of books thanks to my family owning a bookstore &
a momma who passed on her love of reading.
